Choosing to Live a Fantastic Life
The day came when the shoe finally dropped slightly. Dr. Lycka and his wife were on vacation when his wife noticed that something was off on his gait. One of his feet was landing differently, slower than the other. As physicians, they knew it was not a stroke, but still something worth testing later…that’s when the diagnosis came in for Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Dr. Lycka was faced with essentially a death sentence and went through the stages of grief and denial. It was fortunate that he decided to get a second opinion, and was re-diagnosed correctly. He had been bitten by a tick and was experiencing something much less fatal.
He has since lived with a renewed sense of purpose in life and shares his 13 Pearls of Wisdom on how you can live a fantastic life.
