Living by Faith

“Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” This verse from Hebrews 11:6 has always been a driving force in my life. As a Christian, I am called to live my life by faith – but what does that really mean? And why is living by faith so important?

In this episode, we’ll explore what it means to live by faith and why Christian men should aspire to do so. We’ll look at how living by faith can impact our career decisions, our relationships, and our role as fathers.

So what does it mean to live by faith?

Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is “being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” In other words, faith is trusting in God even when we can’t see the outcome. It’s about having confidence in God’s character and His promises, even when life doesn’t make sense.

Living by faith requires us to step out in obedience, even when we don’t know what the future holds. It’s about living in a way that pleases God, even when it doesn’t please us. And it’s about trusting God, even when we don’t understand His plan.

So why is living by faith so important? Here are three reasons Christian men should aspire to live their lives by faith.

First, living by faith is important because it allows us to please God. As we saw in Hebrews 11:6, without faith it is impossible to please God. And when we live our lives in a way that pleases God, we can experience His blessings and find true satisfaction in Him.

Second, living by faith is important because it helps us impact this generation for good. In 2 Corinthians 5:20, we are told that we are “ambassadors for Christ.” As Christian men, we have the opportunity to represent Christ in our workplaces, our homes, and our communities. And when we live by faith, we can be a light in the darkness and an example of God’s love to those around us.

Side Note: Living by faith in the context of Jesus Christ requires truly paying attention to whom and how Jesus spoke. We may be surprised when we hear a lot of today’s rhetoric. It may force us to really look in the mirror and be honest with ourselves on how we’ve treated the world around us.

Finally, living by faith is important because it sets us up for success in the next generation. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, we are told to “carefully observe all these commands I am giving you today, so that you may obey them…response with all your heart and soul.” When we raise our children with a foundation of faith, we are setting them up for a lifetime of obedience to God. And when our children see us living by faith, they will be more likely to follow our example and do the same.

So Christian men, let us aspire to live by faith. Let us please God with our lives, impact this generation for good, and set up the next generation for success. As we do, we will experience the blessings of God and find true satisfaction in Him.
